Government Response: The Charges for Residues Surveillance (Amendment) (Wales) Regulations 2026

Merit Scrutiny point 1: The Welsh Government note the reporting point and understand that Statutory Instruments will be introduced in England and Scotland to update the charging structure for the National Residues Control Programme in those countries in due course.

Welsh Government officials have maintained a dialogue with the Veterinary Medicines Directorate throughout the process and advice was also sought from the Food Standards Agency (Wales) during the development of these Regulations. No operational issues were raised by any organisation.
